Jean M. Haspe, 83, of Coaldale passed away Monday morning at her son’s home in Tamaqua.
Jean was born in Coaldale on June 4, 1935.
She was the daughter of the late Frances (Lukas) and George Lazur.
She was the widow of Leonard Haspe, Sr. who passed away in 1996.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church, Barnesville.
Jean last worked as a waitress for Costello’s in Coaldale. She also worked as a courier for Citizens National Bank.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church Ladies Auxiliary, Coaldale.
She enjoyed baking and spending time at home with her family.
In addition to her spouse, Jean was preceded in death by her brother George Lazur and sister Lillian Sobczynski.
Jean is survived by; son Leonard Haspe, Jr. of Tamaqua; daughter Linda J. Adams wife of Bruce, Drums; brother Stephen Lazur of Mcadoo; brother Daniel Lazur and companion Mary of Still Creek; sister Frances Lazur of Daytona Beach, FL.
Also surviving are her 6 grandchildren; Brian Hayes, Lori Hayes, Michael Haspe, Tamara Haspe, Nicholas Haspe, Justin Adams. Jean also has a great granddaughter Brayleigh Mae Spires and great grandson Kale Haspe. Several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 12th, at St. Richard’s Catholic Church, 799 Barnesville Dr, Barnesville PA 18214. Family and friends are invited to call at the church from 10-11:00 AM on Friday. Interment will take place at a later date at the family’s convenience.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Jean’s memory to St. Luke’s Hospice, 777 Blakeslee Blvd Drive E, Lehighton PA 18235.
