Bernard F. Karpa

Bernard F. Karpa, 88, of Coaldale passed away Saturday January 1st at St. Luke’s-Bethlehem.

He was born on December 31, 1933 in Coaldale and was the son of the late Mary (Wiensky) and Joseph Karpa.

Bernard was of the Catholic faith. 

He served in both the Navy and Airforce during the Korean War and Vietnam during his 21 year career. 

Bernard worked the rest of his career for Schaffer Brewery in Fogelsville. 

He was a member of VFW-Coaldale Post 6982. Bernard enjoyed listening to the polka’s and fishing.

He is preceded in death by; sister Geanova “Jean” Satkowsky; sister Isadora Karpa; sister Philamena Karpa-Zerbe; brother Zigmond Karpa; sister Lottie Matiao.

Bernard is survived by his brother Leonard Karpa of Coaldale. 

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday April 20th at 12:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville PA 17003.
